Scent . Light . Objects

A designer, scenographer, and creative storyteller, Muriel Ughetto creates objects that exist at the intersection of art, nature, and craftsmanship. Drawing from her Italian, Spanish, and African heritage, her work transforms everyday objects into poetic expressions of material and form.

For Muriel Ughetto, fragrance is architecture for the invisible. Developed in collaboration with master perfumers in Grasse, her compositions are conceived as parfum-objet — scent as a designed presence within space.

Light was her first language. Muriel Ughetto's lighting reflects a deep respect for noble materials shaped through artisanal processes. Each piece balances technical precision, often merging unexpected materials to create contrast and depth.

Natural materials are explored, manipulated, and reinterpreted through experimentation and handcraft. The result is a body of work that feels both organic and unexpected, rooted in tradition yet unmistakably contemporary.

For Muriel Ughetto, creation extends beyond design into the craft of making. Developed and produced within the brand's workshop in Mougins, each object reflects a deep understanding of materials, techniques, and processes. This close connection between design and production enables the studio to adapt existing pieces and develop bespoke creations for individual projects.

The Muriel Ughetto collections

Her eye even sharper by this extraordinary project, aware more than ever of the richness of belonging to a dual culture which, she says, has shaped the balance in her perception of things, she puts down on paper a series of lighting, furniture, textiles, which she intends to have manufactured as locally as possible and in the most ethical and virtuous way possible.

A highly technical but poetic collection, which advocates craftsmanship, combining natural materials such as glass, earth and wood, softened by feathers, silk, wool, cotton, linen and hemp... Lines with distinct styles, some with strong ethnic and African influences, others with a more feminine, slightly bohemian inspiration, more plant-based and floral. It's all based around the family of blacks, browns and whites, and... green, always green, always green - her favourite colour.

Influenced by her Provençal roots and a rich blend of Italian, Spanish, and African heritage, Muriel Ughetto's work is distinguished by its authenticity and expressive use of natural materials. Her creative journey began with a collection of lighting and textiles in 1993, followed by recognition at Maison & Objet's Découvertes awards in 1997.
